YOU WANNA HEAR A STORY? WE GOT A MILLION OF ‘EM.

Cover62107Well, it’s actually a million variations on the same story – about Jeremy Harper counting to a million. We love that nut job. We’re hoping he doesn’t go completely insane. We’re also hoping that maybe Jon Stewart will take notice of him because usually when Birmingham, Ala., makes it into the national or international press, there are klansmen, church-burners, or sociopath CEOs involved. This guy is just counting.
Speaking of Jon Stewart, we’re counting on Comedy Central to keep him, as the prospect of facing a presidential election without him is too depressing to consider. Then again, it’s not like Jon Stewart owes you anything. In fact, art owes you nothing, as David Chase made evident in the finale of The Sopranos. Even so, you can eke out meaning in the narrative arc of The Rosebuds or four films from the 1960s or even in vintage T-shirts. Talk about American idylls…
