I am glad that someone is trying to keep a check on our mayor. Mark my words, before his time is up, he will have spent more money on superflous items that any mahyor in history while continuing to throw money away on the dome, fair park, etc. At this point in time there are still 5600 ticket available fofr the first round NCAA playoff games. Still think we need any type of dome?

I have only been a resident of Birmingham for two years now having moved here from the Mississippi Gulf Coast by Hurricane Katrina. From what I have seen and read about regarding the local politics, especially the actions of the "illegitimate" mayor and his ill thought out crooked project(s), and the inept B'ham City Council members, this city is lost. I went to Auburn U then lived in Seattle for 10 years...I never thought I'd live here. Now I remember why. This city has so much potential it's sad that we allow fools to run it.

If I'm not mistaken, work on this expansion also began before the money was approved by the council. I was eating lunch at City Hall the day after Langford was sworn in, and his plans for his office seemed to be common knowledge. There was also discussion of putting in an air filtering system and some new wall coverings that would match his JeffCo Commission office.

His office did find a leak, by the way. Apparently, the renovations (or that is what it was rumored to be) resulted in some busted water pipes that rained down onto the floor below.
