Wow. I am speechless. As an African-American Republican woman, I find myself at war within my own soul. Henry Louis Gates speaks of this in his book "Signifying Monkey"; W.E.B. DuBois alludes to this concept of the double-consciousness of Blacks as being both Black and American. I did my undergraduate thesis on this concept of being Black, American, and a woman and how this is perpetuated in the writings of Toni Morrison. All of this is to say, this man's speech really touched me. If I wasn't sure about his ability to be a great President of the United States of America, I am now; if I wasn't sure whether or not the Country is "ready" for a Black President, I am still unsure but rest assured that the Country NEEDS this President ready or not.
