bus tickets are so cheap 8 bucks for all day 5 days pass. You can use it any five days of the month. If you want a monthly pass it 32 dollars. CHEAP!! My gas in a scion is 32 dollars a week.\
\
The effects of higher gas prices don't hit someone riding the bus because they don't buy gas. Their cost has stayed flat for 11 years. \
\
Let's use the money to improve the infrastructure so we will all WANT to ride the bus. make it effecent and logical.

I'm still thinking that, if they're going to do this, the money needs to come from something else. The problem is that they're already over budget with all the other goodies they've promised the citizens of Birmingham. It's not a bad promotional idea, in the end. It would get folks more interested in riding the busses. My concern is that after the free rides folks will go right back to not riding them.\
\
Even if you pay for rides, the bus is still a great deal-- if you can get a route. My husband and I would absolutely LOVE to take a bus into Birmingham, but we live in Trussville. Therein lies the problem. There seems to be too much focus on mass transit IN Birmingham and too little focus on mass transit INTO Birmingham.
