MENU of MENUS: Undercover \’96 and on stands now!

By Glenny Brock

Local omnivores whiled away their Sunday afternoon at the Pepper Place on Oct. 5, savoring the myriad flavors on offer at Break ‘N Bread, the annual food and wine festival sponsored by Birmingham Originals. Festival-goers were also the first to get their hands on the 2008-2009 Menu of Menus published by Birmingham Weekly.\
\
In addition to the results of our annual readers’ poll, Birmingham’s best dining guide also includes features on signature sandwiches, weekend brunch options, a meat ‘n’ three directory, trends in catering, local ice cream shops and much more. A 14-page dining guide has listings for hundreds of restaurants throughout the metro area. (And several readers have already asked about the delicious fare featured on the cover: The pictured vittles are the East-West Burger from Icon, a fine white wine from The Wine Loft and shrimp-and-grits as served at City Hall Diner in Vestavia.)\
\
During the months to come, features from the 2008-2009 MoM will be posted here on Mixed Media. Meanwhile, pick up your copy of Menu of Menus wherever the Weekly is distributed.
