The Seasoned Performers present Don Juan in Hell

By Glenny Brock

WHETHER BY OVERSIGHT OR INTENTION, YOU ARE CERTAINLY DAMNED: So says legendary lover and libertine Don Juan, in his unofficial capacity as the welcoming committee in Hell. The line comes from the opening act of the heavy, heady comedy Don Juan in Hell, a concert reading of which will be performed on Sunday, Feb. 22, at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 4300 Hampton Heights Drive. Written by George Bernard Shaw, Don Juan in Hell is actually the third act of the playwright\’92s massive Man and Superman, and this performance of it is the third annual concert reading by The Seasoned Performers. Local theatre mainstays Ward Haarbauer, Bob Penny, Sandra Lawler and Sam Chalker are the featured reader-players. Show time is 7 p.m. Admission is $12 for adults and $10 for seniors and students. For tickets or more information, call (205) 978-5095.
