RealtySouth screws homebuyers, self

A judge in U.S. District Court this week found that Birmingham-based RealtySouth scammed as many as 30,000 homebuyers. According to the judge’s decision, the company charged clients a $150 bogus fee called a “administrative brokerage commission.” realtysouthThe decision could cost the company more than $13.5 million in restitution and fines. RealtySOUTH will appeal the decision and recently raised the “administrative brokerage commission” fee to $250. (Source: WBHM)
