Jefferson County Animal Control treats animals about as well as the rest of the county saves money. Seriously, if you see a stray dog, it’s probably more humane to just shoot it yourself than call the county. puppyloveFor years, the private contractor who runs animal control for the county and City of Birmingham has been under constant criticism for being cruel to animals. Now a county report shows how the deplorable conditions continue. (Source: Black & White.)

    This infuriates me! About 6 months ago I called T.E.A.R.S. for a stray and slightly injured, but sweet and probably lost dog here in Southside. Tera, with TEARS told me that they are FORBIDDEN to rescue in the BIRMINGHAM CITY LIMITS! WHY? Is it because of the contract with this animal abusing rescue/shelter? Im Not a fan of PETA, they tend to go overboard, but sometimes that may be a good thing.... maybe they should get on BJCs ass. Is there no controls there, no checks & Balances? This is sick. And the dumbasses that work there should be the ones standing in umemployment lines. I am sure this makes little sense, but I am pissed .... UGH.
