Bham News: Julio Jones had surgery to repair sports hernia

By Matt Hooper

Ian Rapoport, the Birmingham News‘ Bama beat writer, cites an unnamed source who claims that Tide star Julio Jones surreptitiously underwent surgery for a sports hernia recently.

A source close to Jones said the All-Southeastern Conference sophomore had the procedure performed in Philadelphia on April 21 by Dr. William C. Meyers. The surgery was successful, the source said. Meyers’ office would not comment.
