Some of you across the state are well aware of the recent pandemic…of earthquakes…that has plagued our state through
the first five months of 2009. Five separate shakes have been reported by the U.S. Geological Survey this year, with the latest occurring last night in Jackson County.
Earthquakes in Alabama are not uncommon occurrences. We’re actually in dangerous proximity to a very significant fault line. But many folks in our state get anxious when the topic of earth-shaking is brought up, as it is a sign of the end times.
Either way, it means our state has at least one more natural disaster to fret over, in addition to tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, droughts and heat waves.
