Are oceans reaching the end of the line?

Director Rupert Murray’s film The End of the Line, supposedly the first major documentary regarding the devastating impact of overfishing on the oceans, had its premiere at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival. fishing_netsBut you can watch a six-part documentary series based on the film’s full-length theatrical version for free at www.babelgum.com/endoftheline.  The series of webisodes was created by Murray in order to, as a press release puts it, take “viewers behind the scenes and deeper into the issues being raised” by the film. According to the site, The End of the Line has been endorsed received marketing support from National Geographic, Greenpeace and the Waitt Family Foundation. You can also learn read about the film, which is based on a book by Charles Clover and narrated by actor Ted Danson, at www.endoftheline.com
