Coal mines are, and always have been, pits of hell we as a society have dug for ourselves. &quot;Clean Coal&quot; is a mere gimmick, and because we have made ourselves so dependent on this dirty energy resource, not even enlightened, hi-tech Obama, for all his boldness, sees the possibility of seriously challenging it any time soon. And if this is the situation for the President, you know aspiring governor Artur Davis is not going to see any political possibility here either. That is, unless enough people start speaking out. Maybe publishing &amp; picketing with shocking photos, as with the pro-lifers? There&#039;s a book by Phillip Sherrard: &quot;The Rape of Man and Nature.&quot; I think that definitely fits the coal industry.</description>
