Sessions goes on offensive against Sotomayor

Sen.Jeff Sessions went on the offensive this morning against U.S. Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor.

In interviews leading up to the hearing today, Sessions said he would give the nominee a fair hearing, but his 10-minute statement argued emphatically that she should not be confirmed. In particular, Sessions took issue with Sotomayor’s “wise Latina” comments and arguments that diversity among the federal judiciary was a good thing.
