Volunteer orientation at the Alabama Wildlife Center

By Jesse Chambers

Since 1977, the Alabama Wildlife Center at Oak Mountain State Park in Pelham has helped thousands of injured or abandoned birds and animals return safely to the wild. Now the AWC is giving you the opportunity to help them continue this work.

wildlife-thumbThe center will hold a volunteer orientation on Saturday, Aug. 15, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. The AWC relies heavily on volunteers and uses them in a variety of capacities, from feeding animals to doing office or janitorial work. For information, call (205) 663-7930 or fill out a volunteer registration form online at www.awrc.org.
