Artwalk A-to-Z

By Glenny Brock

Birmingham never feels more like an actual city than during Artwalk. For 48 hours, residences, retail shops, eateries and even office buildings are transformed into galleries and performance spaces, and the sidewalks are crowded with people eager to see artwork. The event takes place in the heart of the so-called Loft District — Morris, First and Second Avenues between 22nd and 25th Streets. The hours are Friday, Sept. 11, 5-10 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 12, noon-6 p.m. Admission is free.

More than 100 artists participate in the annual juried show. Below is an (almost) A-to-Z selection of those whose work we particularly like.
