Martha Stewart meets The Jetsons
San Francisco seems an appropriate place for an ostensibly green but also incredibly posh, futuristic consumer show called “The Ki.” According to a news release, the Ki is scheduled for Oct. 22-25 at the old Alameda Point U.S. Naval Air Station and will show “how humanity can walk lightly and still live large.” Daily attendance will be limited to 3,000 people to, we’re told, “ensure a life-changing experience.”
The “fortunate guests” will have the opportunity “to completely immerse themselves in a new reality.” Clean-tech cars, zero-emissions motorcycles, personal solar packs, “eco-chic” fashions, organic wines and “superfoods” – these and more are part of the The Ki.
Some of the participating captitalists include Mercedes Benz, “living cuisine creator” Matthew Kenney, “experiential media maker” Ecofabulous.com, “leisure furniture maven” Mamagreen, and LEED-certified hotelier Gaia Napa Valley. A bunch of geodesic domes will house such amenities as a fashion galleria, organic lounge, “eco-moto” garage and tasting room.
I’m being a dick, of course, but it sounds fun.
Tickets will be available at www.theki.net on a first-come, first-served basis.
