By Weekly Staff

Birmingham laywer Emory Anthony entered the race for mayor. Anthony has sought the office twice before and served as a legal and political advisor to Mayor Bernard Kincaid.

  • Not to be out done, Birmingham would do well to elect Scott Douglas Mayor. I do have some prejudice since I am Scott Douglas.

There are two to three plitical machines left in Birmingham proper with perhaps a fourth emerging. In Birmingham, fear’s high, trust is low, and disappointment is deep. Yet the Birmingham story must go on. Hope matters. Faith Matters. Leadership matters. Leadership and vision, plus the capacity to make that vision happen, matter. If we imagine a great city, we must work together to achieve it. If we believe we can achieve it, then we must enlist our community involvement together with a Mayor who believes it can happen.
  • OK, the word is "poltical".
  • Emory Anthony is capable, qualified, energetic, intelligent, all with great leadership ability.
