After Ron Sparks announcement that he will not challenge Parker Griffith's seat in Congress and will remain in the race for Governor, his challenger for the Democratic nomination came out firing. After citing Sparks' contemplation of runs at other offices, a Davis campaign spokesperson said this: "There is a reason why Ron Sparks continues to lag way behind Artur Davis in every poll - he has no core convictions, believes in nothing and as a result will say anything, and the last thing he ought to be is Governor of Alabama."
