If it’s true that we’re in the nascent stages of an economic “green revolution,” with an increasing number of “green” jobs, then it’s important to ensure equal access to those jobs for everyone, including women and minorities.
The non-profit Applied Research Center recently released a report called Greening Los Angeles: A Case Study of Green Retrofits of City Buildings as a Model for Regional Equity in the Green Economy.
The report describes how a couple of non-profits helped pass a green retrofit ordinance for municipal buildings in L.A. that they hope will create good-paying “green” jobs for women and people of color.
