13 THURS Sips for CF Would you like an opportunity to win a case of wine? The Laps for CF Foundation Junior Board is proud hosting the third annual Sips for CF wine tasting competition. You and your team of up to 3 people will need to bring 3 bottles of wine per team. Two of the bottles will go into a blind tasting and the third will be set aside for the grand prize. 14 FRI Coffee Concert: Images of Italy The Coffee Concert is a more in depth look at what provided the inspiration and some of the more technical aspects of Suite III from Ancient Dances and Airs and Symphony No.4 “Italian”. Conductor Case Scaglione and Education Director Meaghan Heinrich will guide you on this exploration of these two works presented by The Alabama Symphony Orchestra at Alys Robinson Stephens Performing Arts Center. 15 SAT Weatherfest is a brand new event at the McWane Science Center which will be fun for all ages of weather enthusiasts. You will have a chance to meet meteorologists from all over the United States including The Weather Channel and our local stations. There will be lots of interesting weather monitoring equipment to check out as well as free outdoor activities open to the public. Also, Tornado Alley will be showing in the IMAX® Dome. The event runs from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at McWane Science Center.

16 SUN Alabama Gun Collectors Association Fall Show. With hunting season upon us don’t miss the chance to view a wide array of firearms and weapons from the past and present at the Alabama Gun Collectors Fall Show. Bring your firearms to discuss with the other attendees while having the opportunity to trade, buy or sell guns and memorabilia. This event will be at the BJCC and there is a very small door fee for entry.

17 MON Taste of 35222 at the Bottletree Cafe featuring Act of Congress The Avondale area and its businesses will appreciate your support by attending Bottletree Café for music, food and more. There will be music by Justin Cross who will open for Act of Congress. In addition there will be a silent auction supporting M-POWER Ministries! 18 TUES Meet Paula Deen. If you consider yourself a good Southern cook then you have heard of Paula Deen. After work swing by Books-A-Million in Brookwood Village to meet Paula Deen as she signs her newest cookbook, Paula Deen’s Cooking Bible. 19 WED The Exorcist. With Halloween right around the corner The Alabama Theatre is showing The Exorcist tonight. Since this is arguably the best “scary” movie ever made I can’t promise that you won’t have nightmares but I can promise you that you won’t be eating pea soup anytime soon. The showing starts at 8pm.

20 THURS A Taste of Triumph.  Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and tonight you will get to cast your vote as to whether Birmingham is a Beer or Wine city? This is a good event put on by Triumph which benefits adults with developmental disabilities such as autism, who wish to live on their own. Beverages will be provided by Good People Brewery and International will supply the wines. Music will be provided by Jimmy & Laine whilst bids are placed during the silent auction.
