Dec. 10-14, 2012 is A.G. Gaston Family Literacy Week and serves as a time for families and club members of all ages to be immersed in the joys and rewards of reading. In partnership with Dollar General Literacy Foundation’s AfterSchool KidzLit® program, UAB’s Mervyn H. Sterne Library, Dollar General of Titusville, and Georgia State University’s Panther Break Away - Alternative Winter Break, our Southside Homes and South Park Clubs host an array of activities and events including community book drives, volunteer read-a-thons, Guest Readers and the presentation of the Green Power Book Award honoring four club members who exemplify the highest standards of excellence in literacy and language arts. The week culminates with a community pep rally & KidzLit® kick off on Friday, Dec. 14, 2012
